![]() We found our gate, Gate 35, for our Virgin Atlantic flight to Boston, then found a place to sit down and wait until it was time to board. (Maybe we should've tried this.) |
![]() And then we were on the plane and ready to go. So long, London. Goodbye Scotland and Norway. 再見 Europe! |
![]() Once we got up in the air at cruising altitude, we got this for a light snack. Just an hour later, we got our lunch. Then four hours later, we got served dinner. Yummm for all of that.... |
![]() And then we were there. But only to Boston. We still needed to layover for a couple of hours before heading home to Minneapolis/St. Paul. — When we got to Boston, being the first port of entry into the U.S. for us, we had to go through Immigration and Customs which meant picking up our luggage from the baggage claim area. We checked the arrival monitors and found the proper baggage carousel for our arriving flight, then went and waited for our bags to come out. And waited, ..., and waited, until no more bags were coming out. Besides us, there were quite a few other people also looking for their bags that weren't coming out on the carousel assigned for our arriving flight, so, on a hunch, I walked over to the next carousel and immediately saw one of our bags coming into view. I called Mei-O and Teresa over (Steve was way over on the other side of the first carousel), and pretty quickly we had all four of our bags. Then we needed to get to and go through Immigration. Being delayed so long by our luggage problem, we had a long wait in the winding line to get to an Immigration Officer. But once there, the officer took our pictures, looked at us, asked us a question or two, then shooed us on our way. And Customs wasn't a problem either, except after we were okayed to go on, we had to recheck our luggage for
our flight to MSP. We went to a Delta counter where there was no line to check our luggage, and they wouldn't
take it. They said because we came in on a Virgin Airlines flight, we had to take it to the Virgin Airlines
counter (despite the fact that we were ticketed on a Delta flight) where there was a line. So more of our
layover time was eaten up. We quickly made our way to our BOS-MSP flight gate, where very shortly after
arriving there (whew!), we got to board.

![]() The reason for all the above commentary? After the previous picture, this is the very last picture I took on this long vacation. No pictures anywhere; other than this one, none on the plane (we always take a selfie on every flight, but not this time), none of our arrival in Minneapolis, and none of our arrival at home. I guess I was all pictured-out. Basically, the story stopped here. THE END |
