![]() For the next few hours, we just relaxed, often sitting on our balcony watching the sea (which was getting a little rougher (0:29)). |
![]() Around 6:00, we all met up on Deck 16 at the buffet for dinner. For my first plate, I tried a slice of pizza, and I can honestly say, it was one of the worst pieces of pizza I had ever tasted. Fortunately, there were other edible items to choose from, like these scallops and squid rings. And, of course, there were desserts to finish off the meal. There was plenty of stuff to choose from; by the time we were done, everyone had enough. |
![]() As we headed to the theater to see tonight's show, I couldn't help noticing how close to some land we werenote significant for Mei-O and me. With T-Mobile as our phone provider, we had great connectivity all over the world, and even though we were at sea, we were often able to connect to a signal from a nearby cell tower on the land, and thus be able to connect to the internet while at sea. Of course, as the ship moved, the signal would fade in and out. |
![]() By 7:20, knowing we had to show up early for good seats for the 8:00 Showtime show, we were seated and waiting for "Greg London: Rockstars in Concert" to begin. Billed as "From the Weekend to Johnny Cash — Greg London blows the roof off!", he promised impersonations of many rock stars (or so we thought). A 3-time Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year, we were looking forward to his show. He came out looking like this and did some Rod Stewart songs, though not sounding much like Rod Stewart. Then he came out looking like this and sang some Bruce Springsteen songs, though not sounding like Springsteen at all. He also had a slide show of some of his performances; I assume some of them were in Las Vegas or London's West End. While his singing and his song selection was pretty good, his impersonations weren't. But it was still quite entertaining. |
![]() After the show, Mei-O and I went to the Princess Live! lounge to watch the "Yes, No" game show. This was another hilarious game, this time played by members of the audience. It was simple. The hosts (two of them took turns) simply asked questions of the contestants, one at a time, for up to two minutes, and the contestant could not say the word "yes." Sounds easy, right? If you could last the two minutes, you won a bottle of wine. And very few made it. (This guy did, one of the few. Notice the green clock indicating the full two minutes were up.) The shortest time before a contestant said yes was six seconds. And there was this guy. He made it almost all the way through, then with just a few seconds left, blurted out a big "yes, turning the clock red with, as you can see, just seconds left before it would've turned green! (The audience wanted him to win the wine, but I don't think the hosts gave in.) These game shows on the ship really turned out to be fun, whether you participated (no way!) or just watched. I'll have to remember that for future cruises. |
![]() Most nights, karaoke was at 11:00, too late for us old folks, so we never went, despite the fact that I always sing at least once on most of our cruises. But tonight was a special karaoke session, the "Voice of the Ocean" competition, a chance to sing in front of a large audience in the Princess Theater on the last night of the cruise. Three finalists were chosen yesterday, and three more (out of six of us singing tonight) would be chosen tonight. I wasn't so interested in that, in fact, that probably would terrify me, and I didn't really expect to get chosen, I just wanted to sing. And so I did (3:49). I didn't look very comfortable up there (though I was better than a couple of the others), and, no surprise, I didn't get picked as a finalist. And that was the end of another sea day. Tomorrow would be another, though, so more scrounging for things to do. |
