Earlier we saw the Rod Laver Arena, now we passed the John Cain Arena, a stadium named after an Australian politician (not a sports figure!) who was the 41st Premier of Victoria, in office from 1982 to 1990 as leader of the Labor Party and who obviously did some great stuff for the country to deserve his own arena. And then shortly after passing this sports complex, we passed the Rod Laver Arena again, though this time much closer, passing right in front of it for a better view.

And we crossed the Yarra River again, getting a great view of the Melbourne skyline. The route showed us some of the unique architecturally-diverse high-rise buildings in the city like this one and this one and these and these. (It was tough getting good shots, good angles, up to the top of the buildings from my seat in the bus.) Just like in Sydney, there are apparently no design standards, allowing buildings of all shapes and designs and degrees of abstractness to coexist in the city right next to each other. I didn't find it aesthetically pleasing.

When I saw this, I figured we were getting close to the port. It reminded me of the first picture I posted today as we left the terminal, though, with all the high-rise construction going on, I couldn't be sure. A little more driving took us here which confirmed my suspicions. It was a little after 1:00, and we were back at the ship.

Our first priority upon returning to the ship was to get lunch. This was Mei-O's plate and this was mine. We probably had more, but these are the only pictures I took. In fact, I didn't take any pictures all afternoon until...

...our 5:00 sail away from Melbourne which I observed from our windy balcony.

Around 7:30, we met Teresa and Steve in the Princess Theater to see tonight's "Production Show: Encore", put on by the Princess Singers and Dancers with a great band providing the original music. We saw several of these shows during the cruise, and they were all very well-done and quite entertaining.

We chose to eat dinner tonight after the show, so it was pretty late when we entered the nearly empty Symphony Dining Room. Here's what we had (our salads, an appetizer, our entrees, and desserts).

After dinner, we went out to see the "Princess Watercolor Fountain Fantasy:Rain" (0:49) on the main deck. Afterwards, we retired to our room to get some well needed sleep. (We still hadn't completely adjusted to the 17-hour time zone difference.) Tomorrow would be a restful day at sea as we headed for Tasmania!
