![]() Here's my breakfast this morning, another smoked salmon with onion, tomato, and cream cheese on a roll. This is the only picture I took this morning until... |
![]() ...it was time for some line dancing on the Piazza. (Here's Mei-O, again up on Deck 6 overlooking the crowded Piazza dance floor.) The line dancing ran from 9:00 to about 9:30, then the same group stuck around for the 10:00 zumba session (0:51, which looked a lot like the line dancing session!) By now, Teresa had joined the Deck 6 dancers. |
![]() While Mei-O zumba-ed, I walked around the ship, heading down to the dining room to check out tonight's formal dinner menu. The main courses were to be: Mushroom Risotto with Spaghetti Bolognese and Fettuccine Alfredo pasta dishes. The lamb shoulder intrigued me; I was hoping to try it,
of course with French onion soup and/or a Caesar salad with anchovies tonight! I'd have to wait and see what Mei-O thought....

![]() I'd been having a lot of salads for lunch (and dinner), so today at lunch, I took these pictures of the salad bar (there was actually more than onenote). What was odd about it was that a lot of stuff that goes in the salad (onions, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, etc.), other than the greens, were up front, right as you walked into the buffet line. Only after loading them onto your plate did you come to the greens. (I heard a lot of people complaining about this.) But anyhow, these are my only lunch pictures from today. |
![]() It was a cool and windy and foggy day today, and the sea was a little rough as you can see here (0:36). (As wavy as the pool was, it wasn't actually too bad just walking around.) We were up on Deck 18 overlooking quite empty Decks 16 and 17, and began walking along the track for walkers and runners (also empty) when we came upon the empty pickleball court. Mei-O couldn't resist working on her serve (rackets and balls were provided and on-hand in a bin at the court) then hitting a few balls against the wall for practice. |
![]() When we reached the very back of the ship, we noticed something going on up on Deck 19, so we went up to take a look. It was a bocce ball tournament, and, of course, Mei-O, always willing to try something new (as long as it's not dangerous), wanted to give it a try. By the time it was over, Mei-O had won four "prize tickets." (We'd learn what these were later.) |
![]() When we returned to the pickleball court, Steve and Teresa were there playing with another pickleball player, needing a fourth. So Mei-O joined them (0:09). (Notice how, with the pickleball court set up on the basketball court, they had to share the court with some basketball players.) When more pickleball players showed up, Steve, Teresa, and Mei-O took turns, rotating players in and out after each game. |
![]() What's this? After a while being outside on this cold and windy afternoon, we retired to our room to relax a while. I found "Black Swan" on the TV and settled in to watch it. The ship's TV "network" had a lot of good movies on it, though we didn't spend time watching many. |
![]() In order to catch tonight's show in the Princess Theater, we went to dinner in the Symphony Dining Room early tonight. I started with this "Crispy Thai Vegetarian Spring Roll" and a Caesar salad (no anchovies tonight for some reason? But it was still good), while Mei-O had a garden salad and this soup (not sure what it was). We both had the "Slow-Roasted Lamb Shoulder" for our main course; mine (pictured) was pretty good, but Mei-O's was a smaller portion with a lot of fat. And here's one of the desserts one of us had. It was pretty good (the desserts were generally pretty good), but the formal dinners continued to be so-so.... |
![]() Before heading into this evening's show in the Princess Theater, I managed to capture this sunset. |
![]() Tonight's show was called "Showtime with Vocal Instrumentalist Ollie Mulkeen". He sang and played the trumpet with the fantastic Princess Show Band backing him. He was really good, and after the show, as we were leaving the theater, we got to take a selfie with him. |
![]() Back in our room getting ready for bed, I sat out on the balcony a while and took some moonlight pictures as our ship plodded forward towards New Zealand's South Island. Tomorrow we'd wake up to another day at sea. Next Top |
