![]() So we had a Lyft driver (who picked us up in a Tesla, the only reason for this picture!) and an Uber driver pick us all up so we could head back to the hotel to rest up a bit in their lobby before retrieving our luggage and getting a car to the ship. (We had a boarding time of 2:00, so it was too early to head there yet.) |
![]() While the rest of our group were haggling over how to evenly divide the Lift and Uber charges, I just chilled out in the lobby. When everything was settled, Mei-O and I decided we wanted to go out and do some exploring. |
![]() We were looking for the nearby International Market, but on the way, we saw an ABC Store, a very popular convenience store that's everywhere, and we had to stop in to see what it was like. Besides your standard convenience store snacks and drinks and amenities, it also sold a lot of Haiwaiian junk for tourists. (We made it out without buying anything.) |
![]() The International Market was a big indoor open-air two-story shopping mall. Upon first entering, we found... |
![]() ...a big food hall with all sorts of restaurants (these are just a few of them.) While tempting, we knew we'd be on the ship soon where a scrumptious buffet would be awaiting us. |
![]() So we walked around the mall for a while, It was a somewhat typical mall; I didn't take many pictures inside. Then we came to this nice open-air atrium with one lonely duck in the pond, and this statue of King Kamehameha IVnote. |
![]() On the way out, we passed this cool arcade with some VR (virtual reality) car racing games in it. We stopped in to watch a couple of gamers racing. (We could see what they were seeing on the wall-mounted monitors behind them.) |
![]() How cool would it be to rent this and drive around Honolulu? (Notice the Target store in the background.) |
