this port Nawiliwili, which is actually the name of the bay (Nawiliwili Bay) where the ship docked. The nearby town which we visited was Līhuʻe, but I'll be referring to it most of the time as Nawiliwili. |

![]() We woke up this morning docked in Nawiliwili, Kauaʻi. After a quick breakfast, we headed down to the Hollywood Theater to check in for our Waimea Canyon shore excursion. |
![]() Around 8:45, we left the ship to meet our tour bus and guide who we'd be spending the next 5½ hours with. Click here to see pictures of our Waimea Canyon shore excursion. |
![]() When we got back to our room, our room attendant met us at the door and handed us this, a bottle of Chardonnay and some chocolate-covered pineapple snacks. If you haven't already read the story behind them, check it out here. |
![]() After getting cleaned up, it was off to lunch. I discovered a very good open-faced chicken salad sandwich which went so good with their potato salad that I liked. In fact, it was so good, I had another with my dessert. |
![]() After lunch, Mei-O and I decided to take a relaxed walk around the ship to digest our food. We watched the waves crashing on the distant breakwater for a while, checked out the homes along the shore, then, after going inside and heading down to Deck 5, mid-ship, ... |
![]() ...we ran into Emily and were finally able to get a picture or two with her. |
![]() We actually spent about an hour and a half walking around the ship, including a lap or two around the track on Deck 6. Then we went back to our stateroom to rest up a while before dinner. |
![]() The star of tonight's dinner (here's the more readable copy) was Braised Lamb Shank. I had a Caesar Salad (sans anchovies), and shared some of Mei-O's Cream of Asparagus Soup before digging into my lamb, which turned out to be one of the better formal dinner entrées we had so far. For dessert, the Snickers Pound Cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, topping off a pretty good dinner. |
![]() Tonight's show in the Hollywood Theater directly after dinner starred "Duo Dream" in the "Mysterious House." Click here to see some pictures of their act. |
![]() After tonight's show, on the way to the Aloha Cafe for some evening snacks, Mei-O, Steve, and I stopped to play some ping pong. |
![]() And here's my evening snack. Their desserts were some of the best things they had available in the buffet. |
![]() On the way back to our room, we passed through the Gold Rush Saloon where a game of "Celebrity Heads Up" was in progress, so we sat and watched a while. Facing the audience with a picture of a celebrity on a screen behind him, the participant had to guess who the celebrity was by asking the audience questions. We watched the last two players, this guy was the last one. It took him a while, but after someone in the audience gave him the clue "I'll be back!", he finally identified Arnold. When the game was over, we headed back to our room and ended our day in Nawiliwili. We were staying here overnight, and would awaken tomorrow, the last day of our cruise, to spend the day exploring.
