![]() The days of getting a different towel animal on our bed every evening are long gone. Here's a permanent display of some towel animals for those who had never seen one before. |
![]() Each of us had a medallion that we pretty much always wore around our necks or carried with us. Whenever we approached our stateroom, the security system would sense our presence and display our pictures alongside our door and automatically unlock the door for us. Although we usually walked together, sometimes an image of just one of us would show up, sometimes just Mei-O and sometimes just me. |
![]() This is Dan Looney, our cruise director. He introduced every Showtime act filled with energy and excitement. We also heard and saw him many other times during the cruise; hosting game shows and competitions, doing the ship's daily TV show, and making ship-wide PA announcements about various topics. He was truly the voice of the Sky Princess. This cruise was to be his last on the Sky Princess. He was moving on to a different ship when this cruise was over. (I didn't catch why, but I hope it was for a promotion.) In my opinion, he was one of the best cruise directors we've ever had. |
![]() Ugh, the elevators. There were five or six elevators on Deck 9, the deck where our stateroom was. But to call an elevator, we had to press up or down buttons by several of the elevators; they weren't all linked up. |
![]() Whenever the ship was docking, the captain and one or more of his team, showed up in this extended wing of the bridge so they could closely keep an eye on their progress as they controlled the ship from a remote console as they slowly and carefully approached the pier. |
![]() June 19, in Trondheim, in front of the Nidaros Cathedral. |
![]() June 21, when we docked in Honningsvåg, there was another cruise ship in the harbor, the Silver Dawn from the Silversea Cruise Line. It stayed moored well off-shore the whole time we were there. I assume any shore visits were done by tender. |
![]() June, 21, we saw this as we were departing the ship in Honningsvåg on our way to North Cape. |
