The Prague Castle Ringing Room - A Photoshop Challenge
(A Hobby)

On September 8, 2023, I saw a Facebook post from a FB friend with this picture that she took while in Prague for her niece's wedding. When a commenter asked her if she got any pictures of the ringing room, she replied, "Not very good ones, as through a heavy grate, but here you go.", along with the below picture. I always love a Photoshop challenge, and I thought this would be a good one. I am not a Photoshop expert; I just dabble in it, and, while my cleaned up picture looks okay on a computer screen at its normal size and resolution (my goal), if you blow it up to examine it closely, you can see it's definitely not professional-grade.

This one was tough, one of the toughest I've ever done, but it was fun. If you click on the image, you can see what my cleaned up version looks like. (You can click on it again to toggle back and forth between my version and the original. I've shrunk it down a bit so it fits better on the page. Click here to see it full size.) The hardest parts were the big information poster on the wall just to the right of center and the ceiling girder work in the top left corner. I had to be somewhat inventive recreating the poster; the girders were actually taken from a different picture, and while not perfect, they work. In the end, the heavy grate is gone, and you can get a better feeling for the room.
