My NCL Veterans' Benefits

Norwegian Cruise Lines has a program that honors veterans and provides several benefits for veterans and their spouses when cruising with them. The main benefit, one which I as a veteran took advantage of, was a 10% discount on the price of the cruise, saving Mei-O and I over $300! The rest, not quite as valuable as the 10% discount, but still appreciated, included:

  • A package marked "For Your Eyes Only" explaining the program,

    which included:

    • several letters about the program and its benefits, including a letter from NCL's President and CEO, David J. Herrera (U.S. Army National Guard, ret.).
    • a booklet detailing the service careers and diverse backgrounds of many of NCLs directors, board members, etc.
    • this 2" diameter medallion

Click either picture or any of the following pictures to see them full-size.

    • this 1" lapel pin

    • this 2½" wide patch, specific for the Pride of America ship. You can collect patches from other NCL ships on subsequent cruises.

  • A meet-up with fellow veteran travelers, which included some hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and a group picture. (There I am wearing a pink shirt.)

  • And finally, this picture taken at the above meet-up.

(These last two pictures from the meet-up were obviously not included in the original "For Your Eyes Only" package. They were taken at the meet-up and delivered to our stateroom on the last day of the cruise, free of charge. They were not originally digital. They're 6x8s, and came in a nice folder. I had to scan them in.)

It's a pretty nice and well-appreciated deal the way NCL honors service members and veterans.
