Roll the Line

Obsolete.

From lines: Quarter away from the center of the line ("Lines Divide"), and then "Peel" inward, adjusting to facing lines. Some texts described it as Round Off (making it legal only from back-to-back lines) and Put Trailers Out.

The difference between this call and Roll the Wave has for some time been considered more obscure than people want to think about, and this definition is quite obsolete. In fact, this name is now applied to the definition given below for Roll the Wave. They are the same call. The difference is the same as the difference between Switch the Wave and Switch the Line — the two names are simply a verbal nicety on the part of the caller, depending on the starting setup.
